Truth surfaces in the face of corporate dominance. We come from the backwoods and city streets, from comfortable homes and beneath bridges. We see Arkansas as it is and as it could be. We see our impoverished, rural and urban sisters and brothers living amongst that small minority--Tyson's, Wal-Mart, etc.--with so much wealth. We see our lives becoming markets for the capitalist monster to devour. We see the ""Natural State""becoming a wasteland. Where there once was a community, there is now a corporate business district. Where there once was a forest, there is now a subdivision. Arkansas Independent Media Center speaks truth to these realities by providing a reclaimed media space, free from corporate chains. The IMC is designed to empower and give voice to the people of Arkansas, especially the voices and ideas marginalized by mainstream media. We will supply Arkansas with radical, passionate, intelligent, and accurate versions of stories and issues that link our communities to the world.
